Board of Directors
The Board of Directors is responsible for the overall governance of the company and is the ultimate decision making body for Birmingham Royal Ballet. Its responsibilities include:
- Setting the mission, values and long term plans of the company; and reviewing performance against those plans;
- Strategic policy making, including responding to Arts Council England’s National Portfolio Organisation funding programme;
- Key leadership appointments, particularly the Director and Chief Executive;
- Agreeing the financial strategy, approving budgets and key capital expenditures and reviewing performance;
- Assessing and managing risks and upholding the reputation of the company.
The day to day management of Birmingham Royal Ballet, including its overall performance and financial management, is delegated to the Chief Executive, Caroline Miller. The artistic vision, strategy and performance of the company and the management of its artistic activities are the responsibility of the Director, Carlos Acosta.
Directors are not remunerated and give their expertise and advice voluntarily
