About Into the Music
Don't miss BRB’s most ambitious triple bill to date. Into the Music offers a rare chance to see a major piece from the master of modern ballet Jiří Kylián, the UK premiere of the superbly symphonic work of Uwe Scholz, a choreographer’s whose early death cut short a stellar career; and the world premiere performances of Hotel, created by the team lauded for their recent production of Coppélia at the Edinburgh Festival.
Jiří Kylián’s magnificent Forgotten Land is ‘a great primer to why Kylián is one of the most revered choreographers of the 20th century’ (The Guardian) – a gripping journey into memory and loss set to Benjamin Britten’s magnificent Sinfonia da Requiem.
In Hotel, choreographer Morgann Runacre-Temple and composer Mikael Karlsson team up for a surreal journey into the secrets and lies that live behind closed doors.
And to close, German choreographer Uwe Scholz worked regularly with classical repertoire – and never more dramatically than in his gloriously musical interpretation of Beethoven’s vibrant Seventh Symphony, a work famously described by Wagner as ‘the apotheosis of the dance’.
Running time: 2 hours 35 minutes
