Rae Smith’s designs include The Prince of the Pagodas for Birmingham Royal Ballet Wonder.land, The Light Princess and Warhorse (Olivier, Tony and Evening Standard awards) at the Royal National Theatre, on world tour, West End and Broadway; Pelleas and Mellisande (Scottish Opera); Cavilieri Rusticano and Pagliacci (Met New York); and Benvenutto Cellini (ENO). Other award winning designs include St Joan, The Seafarer,Street of Crocodiles and The Visit for the National; Wagner’s Ring Cycle for Opera Du Rhin (Grand Prix for Outstanding Achievement in Opera); an Obie Award for best set and costume design for Oliver Twist and the Irish Times Award for Best Costume for An Ideal Husband.
