Peter Teigen, was born in Oslo, and came to Britain in 1983. During the 1990s he was Resident Lighting Designer for London City Ballet, working with Galina Samsova, Christopher Gable and Marc Baldwin among others. At the same time he developed a freelance career, collaborating with choreographers such as Ashley Page, Matthew Bourne and Michael Corder.

He has lit many ballets for Birmingham Royal Ballet, most recently, Daniela Cardim's Imminent (2021), Will Tuckett's Lazuli Sky (2020) and Ruth Brill’s Peter and the Wolf (2019). In 2014 he lit Peter Wright’s Swan Lake at the Teatro Colón, Buenos Aires, and in 2015 he lit The Two Pigeons for The Royal Ballet.

Peter is also an established dance photographer, commissioned by clients including English National Ballet, and has photographed subjects who included HRH The Princess of Wales.
