Barry Allen joined the Board of BRB in January 2020.

Educated at Solihull School and Downing College, Cambridge, since 1980, Barry has had a successful career in property based in Birmingham, culminating in the formation of a new office for Savills in 1998 which he headed for 20 years until his retirement in 2021.

Barry continues to work on his own account as Wallis Real Estate. He offers advisory services for many of the largest development schemes both in the Midlands and nationally.

Barry has a particular interest in architecture and the built form. His work in the regeneration sector has created a unique understanding of, and an interface with, the creative industries sector.

He has also been an external examiner for the Oxford Brookes Real Estate degree course.

Family life is important to Barry. Married since 1981, he has three children with his wife, Catherine. Away from work, Barry loves sport and the performing arts.
