A huge hit with audiences and broadcast by the BBC as the BBC Christmas Ballet in 2010, David Bintley’s interpretation of the classic Prokofiev score is one of the most popular ballets in the Company’s repertory. Unlike Ashton's previous version, Bintley returns to Prokofiev’s original stepsisters, danced by women. The ballet boasts a spectacular ball and some stunning coups de théâtre, such as the clock at the end of the ball and a beautiful carriage like spun sugar.
