About Repertoire Training

Unmissable opportunities to learn with Birmingham Royal Ballet

Repertoire is the catalogue of classical ballets that have been passed down the generations of dancers, from Swan Lake to The Nutcracker.

Birmingham Royal Ballet offers children and adults the opportunity to further develop their technique and continue their training journey through friendly and supportive classes where they can learn dances (also known as variations) from the most famous ballets.

'I attended the BRB repertoire training in Southampton and absolutely loved it. I learned a lot of new moves that I’ve been able to use in my dancing. I really love ballet and this was a great opportunity to learn new things in a different environment'.

George, aged 9

Ballet students of all ages can attend classes taught by former and current Birmingham Royal Ballet professional dancers to learn variations from our current productions in Birmingham and in the cities and towns included in our tours.

We've designed our Repertoire Training classes to strengthen students' passion for and enjoyment of dance. Each class is specifically tailored to be suitable for people with different levels of experience and designed around specific ballet examination grades.

Details of any upcoming classes will be detailed below...

A live pianist and real repertoire! These are my favourite aspects of Birmingham Royal Ballet's repertoire training. The teachers are welcoming, respectful and down to earth. They make me feel that I can do it which is important to me as an older dancer amongst teenagers. I've been to three repertoire training sessions in Plymouth now and I take along more dancing friends each time.

I appreciate how my enjoyment of the performance in the theatre is enhanced by attending the class; it's exciting to wait for the part you learned and think 'I did that!'
