A Celebration of Ballet
World Ballet Day may not be happening this year (San Francisco Ballet, The Royal Ballet and The Australian Ballet are having a well-deserved year off), but we’ve got together with some of our fellow companies across the UK to bring you a celebration of ballet none the less.
On 6 November Birmingham Royal Ballet will be joined by English National Ballet, Northern Ballet and the Royal Academy of Dance with a selection of exclusive online events to celebrate the joy that ballet brings to peoples lives as well as highlight the diverse talent across the industry.
A Celebration of Ballet – Wednesday 6 November
11am: Birmingham Royal Ballet Class on Stage
We're kicking the day off with Class on Stage, filmed during the opening week of Luna at Birmingham Hippodrome. Class was led by Répétiteur Yvette Regueiro accompanied by pianist Jeanette Wong.
12 noon: Northern Ballet
At midday Northern Ballet will be broadcasting Sky Above, Voices Within by George Liang
1pm: Class on Stage with English National Ballet
Then watch as English National Ballet's dancers take Company Class
2pm: Royal Academy of Dance Silver Swan Class
Finally the Royal Academy of Dance are broadcasting a free online version of their Silver Swan class
