Nutcracker Exploration Day, December 2012
The end of 2011 finished with a range of Nutcracker-focused projects, including creative workshops in schools and teacher-training activities. Working in partnership with Birmingham Hippodrome, 90 children from Springfield Primary School received a bumper morning of activities based around The Nutcracker. The children all participated in storytelling sessions, music and dance workshops, and went backstage to see sets, props and costumes before attending a matinee performance. The day received enthusiastic reviews from children and staff alike and will no doubt be a day they will always remember.
' I liked seeing the costumes because it was fun to see what kind of material is used and very few people get to go backstage.' Pupil
' I loved it so so much, I just want to see it again one thousand times!' Pupil
' I liked watching the performance because I liked the dancing and the music.' Pupil
' I had a fantastic day with all the nutcracker people.' Pupil
