Peter Teigen



Born in Oslo, Peter Teigen came to Britain in 1983, working in London's West End before joining London City Ballet in 1986, becoming Resident Lighting Designer and working with such producers / choreographers as Galina Samsova, Christopher Gable, André Prokovsky, Jack Carter, Peter Darrell and Matthew Hart. During the mid-1990s he complemented his lighting design with a freelance career in photography. During this time he assisted the photographer Anthony Crickmay and set up his own studio based at the London Studio Centre. His commissioned clients include the Royal Opera House, English National Ballet, Adventures in Motion Pictures and Gwent Ballet Theatre. Subjects photographed by commission include Dame Margot Fonteyn and HRH The Princess of Wales. During this time he created lighting designs for City Ballet of London, Marc Baldwin Dance Company, Robert North, Ashley Page, Ian Spinks and Adam Cooper, and became the Lighting Consultant for JazzeXchange. Since January 2000 he has acted as Lighting Consultant for Birmingham Royal Ballet.
