Your support will make Carlos Acosta’s Don Quixote dazzle for its spring 2026 tour across the UK, enabling us to undertake repairs and support us with the rising costs of touring live ballet and music.
Did you know?
- Don Quixote features four flamenco guitarists on stage.
- 400 tattoos will be made for the duration of the tour.
- The show requires 50 pieces of facial hair.
- Kitri's tutu in Act III is a halter neck with a low back. This is unusual for ballet and very technically difficult to make.
How will your support make a difference?
- £20 could create a new costume tattoo for a dancer
- £50 could restore a dancer’s hat
- £150 could fund new footwear for a dancer
- £1,000 will repair Kitri’s costume
- £5,000 could provide a new Rascal costume
Why Donate?
Don Quixote is a key part of BRB’s repertoire. Often people’s first experience of ballet, it’s a development opportunity for dancers to perform featured roles. We’re committed to touring ballet with live music, but we face rising costs and declining public funding. Ten years ago, we received £1million p/year from Birmingham City Council. We no longer receive any Council funding. Generous Big Give donors have helped completely refurbish older ballets and we want to future-proof Don Quixote to prevent disrepair.
We need to re-make the 'Rascal' costumes, repair the set for the Hanger and Archway and create new costume tattoos to bring this iconic ballet to life! With your support we can confidently deliver 42 performances across five UK venues.

How to support the Big Give Christmas Challenge
Make a donation online by debit or credit card between 12 midday on Tuesday 2 December and 12 midday on Tuesday 9 December 2025.
Thanks to the generous support of Charles Glanville, Ian and Alison Fisher, NBB Law, The GNC Charitable Trust and an anonymous donor, and Big Give Champions The Reed Foundation, up to £35,000 of donations will be doubled during our Big Give Christmas Challenge!
